One of my favorite quotes is by Charles Bukowski and states:
“Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be?”
Well can you? The thing is, there are so many things and often times people that try to define us, but it’s time we understand the importance of breaking the mold. The thing about a mold is that it is meant to confine. There are so many things around us that God has designed that a uniquely beautiful it its own way and while it can be similar, it still has something so uniquely different that we can say “I’ve never seen a butterfly they looks like that before.”
I love lighthouses for several reasons. One of those being that they are all unique, and they have to be because this is what helped sailors know where they were. In today’s world, there are so many messages to be like this or that. What happened to celebrating differences rather than requesting carbon copies of people?
I challenge you to step out and break the mold. Let your dreams and goals break the mold. Let your actions and words break the mold. You are unique!
